Who we are
This website is operated by VC Property Limited (NZBN 9429053661968), trading as VC Stays, in Auckland, New Zealand. We handle personal information under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
When you send a booking request or message, we collect the details you enter: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, the dates and number of guests, and your message. We also store a one-way scrambled version of your internet address to help stop spam; we do not store the address itself.
The website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our maps load from OpenFreeMap, which receives your device’s internet address when a map appears.
How we use it
We use your details only to reply to your enquiry, arrange and manage your stay, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your information or use it for marketing without your separate permission.
Where it is stored
Enquiries are stored with our database provider, Supabase, the website is hosted by Vercel, and enquiry alerts are sent through Resend. These providers may store data outside New Zealand, under contracts that require them to protect it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become a booking are deleted within 24 months. Booking records are kept as long as the law requires for tax purposes.

You can ask to see or correct the information we hold about you by emailing vcstays.nz@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
